Conclusion of Long-term Training Courses Entitled “Integration of Global Environmental Issues into Regional and Local Planning Policies” During the Academic Year 2008-200926.06.2009

On 26th June 2009 in Sofia University “Sv. Kliment Ohridski” the fifth conclusive test of the ten-day training course entitled “Integration of Global Environmental Issues into Regional and Local Planning Policies” was conducted, which concludes the planned long-term training courses during the academic year 2008-2009 in which 77 representatives from the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, Ministry of Environment and Water and their regional structures, as well as experts from municipal and district administrations participated.
The trainings were conducted by lecturers from the Sofia University inline with the training programme developed and tested in cooperation with the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary in 2008 under the Rio Conventions Project.
The participants in each of the five groups took 5 series of thematically combined lectures and exercises through 60 academic hours presented during 2 work days in five consecutive weeks in Sofia University. At the end of each training, the participants went through a test and received certificates for completion of training by the Sofia University.
The schedule for the presentation of the ten-day trainings during the academic year 2009-2010 as well as application schedules will be published on the Rio Conventions Project website in August 2009.
