Rio Conventions Project Conducted One-day Trainings in 27 District Centers

On 19th of July 2009 in Dobrich was conducted the last of the one-day training courses entitled “Introduction to the Integration of Environmental Issues into the Regional Development and the Spatial Planning”
The trainings were implemented in 27 District Centers in Bulgaria with the participation of over 200 experts from the municipal and district administrations. The course was conducted in the period January – June 2009. It was developed in cooperation by а team of lecturers from the Sofia University and the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary in 2008 under the Rio Conventions Project.

Key knowledge in the main areas of sustainable regional development and environmental issues integration was presented to municipal and district administration experts during the course. For experts looking to obtain in-depth knowledge on the subject, the course has an extended version, which is offered during 60 academic hours in Sofia University “Sv. Kliment Ohridski” and concludes with a test and issuance of a certificate by the University.
