Training for Experts from District and Municipal Administrations and NGOs for Stimulating Public Participation in the Integration of Global Environmental Objectives in Strategic Planning Documents01.04.2009
During year 2009, a brochure entitled Stimulating Public Participation in the Integration of Global Environmental Objectives in Strategic Planning Documents was developed under the Rio Conventions project. The main objective of the publication is to present practical skills and good practices for improved cooperation with the local communities during the process for update of the development plans and spatial structure, focusing on the integration of global environmental issues.
Aiming to inform the local and regional authorities as well as the NGOs and the public about their rights and obligations in the process of the conduction of the public discussions of strategic planning documents, a two-day training for experts from district and municipal administrations and NGOs form North and South Bulgaria, entitled Stimulating Public Participation in the Integration of Global Environmental Objectives in Strategic Planning Documents was organized by the Rio Conventions project.
The training was conducted respectively: on 9 and10 of April 2009 in the town of Veliko Tarnovo – for experts from district and municipal administrations and NGOs from North Bulgaria and on 23 and 24 of April 2009 in the town of Plovdiv for experts from district and municipal administrations and NGOs from South Bulgaria according to the attached schedule.
