The Copenhagen Climate Exchange 2009
The Copenhagen Climate Exchange 2009 will take place in the Danish capital from 3 to 6 December, just before COP15, the official UN climate summit. At the Copenhagen Climate Exchange people will gather to share their ideas on local solutions to the global climate problems and pass on a strong message to the COP15. There will be a wide range of exhibitions, activities and workshops. The exchange is hosted by the Danish Society for Nature Conservation . The full programme for this ‘people’s climate fair’ is now available on-line. It lists the activities of more than 100 organisations, companies and cities that will exhibit together over the four days.
The Climate Sustainability Platform
Each day at the exchange the Climate Sustainability Platform will host an open forum for everyone to discuss climate sustainability solutions. Each day the dialogue of the platform will have a separate theme covering adaptation, mitigation, finance and technology. Finally, there will be expressed a shared vision and a Climate Sustainability Message will be delivered to COP15 and the negotiators.ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability
As one of exhibiting organizations ICLEI will present the Local Climate Action Exhibition with examples from its Campaign Cities for Climate Protection and Local Renewables Initiative, which supports local governments in promoting sustainable energy in the urban environment.Along with exhibitions and discussions, the various activities of the event include also climate games, theater and movies on climate related topics, concerts or availability to use a book lounge.
