The Covenant of Mayors’ new webpage features major European programmes available for funding sustainable energy projects of local authorities. It is accessible through the Covenant’s main website.The aim is to fascilitate the efforts of Covenant of Mayors signatories to achieve their commitment of going beyond the EU’s CO2 emissions target of 20% reduction by 2020. In support of this aim the European Commission has created specific financial mechanisms and adapted existing funding structures. The programmes and instruments described in the new webpage are the following: |

- Intelligent Energy Europe (IEE) Programme and the European Local Energy Assistance (ELENA) facility, launched by the European Commission and the European Investment Bank to help local and regional authorities unlock their sustainable energy investment potential;
- European Regional Development Fund (ERDF);
- Joint European Support for Sustainable Investment in City Areas (JESSICA);
- JASPERS technical support facility;
- Municipal Finance Facility;
- Green Investment Schemes (GIS); and
- Programmatic Carbon Crediting/Programme of Activities (PoA).
