International Energy Conference in Sofia with Participation of Local Authorities
 

On 14 – 16 April, 2010 the 6th International Congress and Exhibition on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Sources for South East Europe will take place in Inter Expo Center, Sofia. The event is focused on renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions in South East Europe and provides a forum for networking and exchange of experience and knowledge among the specialists, researchers, manufacturers and service providers, academia, local, national, and EU authorities. At the event the LG Action project will be presented. The project LG Action "Networking action to involve Local Governments in the EU and international energy and climate debate" provides information, mobilise and support the positioning of local governments, and call for greater recognition of their essential role in climate protection and sustainable energy roll-out. Its presentation at the 6th EE and RES Congress and Exhibition will introduce the project activities and the existing interaction opportunities. The presentation is scheduled to take place at the 'Municipality Energy Independence' session on 16 April at 13:30.

The aim of the annual EE and RES Congress and Exhibition is to promote strategic partnerships and to enhance knowledge transfer. Therefore more than 500 participants are expected to attend the event this year. These are representatives of EU, regional and local governmental and municipality institutions, EE and RES technology manufacturers and service providers, financial institutions, consultants, EE and RES project developers, architects and engineers, agricultural experts and land owners, waste and environmental experts.
