A conference titled “The Energy Revolution: On What Side of the Barricade are We?” was held on 31 May in the building of Bulgarian National Assembly. The event was organized by the Bulgarian School of Politics.

The Conference took place under the patronage of the Chairperson of Bulgarian National Assembly, Ms Tzacheva who opened it officially as part of the Green Week in Bulgaria. The participants in the conference were members of the National Assembly, municipality councillors, mayors, representatives of the business and non-governmental organizations.

The programme included presentations and discussions on the energy revolution at all levels – from global to local. A special panel was dedicated to the energy revolution and local policy. As a side event to the conference, an exhibition was organized on “2050 Roadmap”, describing the European vision for development of a low-carbon economy.

The Conference is part of the activities under the project “A green step forward: towards new responsibility and commitment to the environment by the Bulgarian politicians”, which is implemented by the Bulgarian School of Politics.

The presentations from the Conference are available at the website of Bulgarian School of Politics, only in Bulgarian. They describe good practices, municipality initiatives and politics in the scope of energy efficiency, climate change, and renewables in the country.
