This guide has been published by LG Action project ‘Networking action to
involve Local Governments in the EU and international energy and climate
debate’ and provides valuable guidelines and insight to the work of local
authorities on climate change and sustainable energy in Europe. The
authors have taken into consideration the attitude to climate change and
sustainable energy of local authorities, their needs, the challenges they
face and the existing opportunities. Many examples and case-studies
illustrate the information presented.
The title is “Your LG
Action Guide to local climate and sustainable energy action”. In the form
of a compact guide, information on key issues relevant to local climate
and energy action is provided, with the objective to stimulate an interest
in exploring local sustainable energy options. The guide addresses
community leaders, local elected officials and municipal staff working in
all sectors.
The guide provides a quick
overview of the need for local action, inspiration by mini-cases that
illustrate different replicable sustainable energy solutions and
motivation for joining other communities engaged in local climate and
